A TIME FOR LOVE: 1966, Southern Taiwan. On a one-day release from army camp, young Chen traveled from south to north and back in search of May, who used to work at his favorite pool hall.
A TIME FOR FREEDOM: 1911, Taiwan under Japanese occupation. A scholar visits regularly a courtesan. Two persons of contradictory backgrounds associate through a romantic encounter.

A TIME FOR YOUTH: 2005, Taiwan today. Jing was born prematurely, with a hole in her heart. She also has epilepsy, and is losing sight in her right eye. She's a singer-songwriter. Despite her having a female lover, she is involved with Zhen...
